Well, folks… I’ve spent most of October with bronchitis: guess what! Still have it. It’s been lovely. I won’t go into the particulars, but I’ve felt really gross lately. Been trudging along with apps and shit. I finished two drawing notebooks and have started on the personal statement blah blah blah.
Here’s what I’ve enjoyed of this month:
Sometimes Seoul ain’t so ugly. This is a picture of Namsan Mountain (the most hiking I really go, though I keep hearing hiking is gorgeous here).
Ever go to a party under Sogang Bridge and are chilling and hiding from the rain, when suddenly a huge surge of sewage washes through and you’re left with poo on your shoes? Me neither. That’s why I’m glad we came late to this one. But still, good times– though I’m not sure all that hanging around outside helped my illness.
I leave you with this shadow puppet. It’s an old woman’s face. Get it?
I guess this is has become more of a “life” blog than a “spectacular adventures in a foreign country” blog. After all this time you kind of lose the mysticification and the evangelism about every new thing. I just live here, alright? And I rarely leave my neighborhood anymore, to be honest. Even my once-beloved Hongdae is kind of too far now. Maybe I’ll get over it. But with winter comin’ round, I’m not too sure.
