A short anecdote.

April 13, 2009

On Friday one of my kids asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. Russell had this happen to him too. In both cases, we shrugged it off, replying, “Oh I am grown up! I am a teacher! Of course!”

But you know, inside was that little voice yelling, “I am a child! I AM STILL A CHILD! No, I don’t know what I want to do when I grow up! I only know the fear of adult uncertainty!”

Some days I feel like I’m a 12 year old trying to dress up and act like a 35 year old.
